Dr. Ellen Hunter was born and raised by her parents, Steven and Karen, in St. Marys, Ohio. She received her undergraduate degree from the College of Wooster, where she was a Collegiate All-American Swimmer and Hall of Famer.
Prior to establishing Family Audiology Associates, Inc., with Dr. Meiring, Dr. Hunter worked as a clinical audiologist in Urbana and Springfield, Ohio. She received her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2003, having had internship positions at the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital and Kosair Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Hunter and her husband have been married since 2006 and currently live in St. Marys. He is the lead industrial engineer for Ford Engine Plant in Lima, Ohio. They have two children, William and Henry, named after her maternal grandfather and pateral great-grandfather, William “Bill” Stewart and Henry “Heini” Bubp.
When not working or raising her children, Dr. Hunter spends her time serving with the Rotary Club of St. Marys, as she is a past president (2016–2017). She also serves as staff parish relations chair (SPRC) at Wayne Street United Methodist Church in St. Marys.
